Cleaning and pressing can maximize the grade and value of your collection and also increase visual appeal. Preservation is the art of returning a comic to its initial state, or as close as is possible by improving the appearance by removing dirt and debris & stains (where possible), light treatments, and other cleaning techniques, and both hot and cold pressing depending on what is called for.
Cleaning
Grime, dirt and pencil marks can be significantly reduced, and in some cases, removed entirely with a properly executed dry cleaning. The Vault staff utilizes specific tools when performing this service while taking care to not damage your prized possessions . A thorough dry cleaning and pressing can improve the look and in most cases, the value of your comic books. Dry cleaning does not remove rust, water marks, stains or tanning.
Pressing
Dents, bends, waves, spine rolls and other minor flaws can be significantly reduced, and in some cases, removed entirely with a combination of localized work and proper pressing. Following the procedure, your comics will look better and in most instances, increase in value.
